“It’s rigged” is the easiest thing to say and the hardest thing to prove. We start with the World Cup at its best: strangers celebrating culture, fans crying over once-in-a-generation players, and that rare feeling that competition can actually bring people together. Then we pull on the thread that always follows big moments in sport: controversy, VAR arguments, and the suspicion that FIFA corruption or political influence is shaping outcomes behind the scenes.

From there, we take the corruption conversation out of the stadium and into real life. We break down the difference between a bribe and a finder’s fee, why timing and intent matter, and how “cash on the table” shows up in industries like construction and real estate. We also wrestle with the uncomfortable part: if you genuinely believe the game is tilted, what’s the point of playing fair, and where do personal ethics actually come from when the incentives are backwards?

We hit UFC conspiracy talk around Conor McGregor’s return, touch AFL equalization and quiet under-the-table advantages, then zoom out to crypto market manipulation and influencer culture that makes success look unreal. We close with a practical alternative to cynicism: using AI tools and AI agents to buy back time, automate repetitive work, and get leverage without doing shady stuff. If you want more conversations like this, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review with your take: where do you draw the line on corruption?

World Cup And Why It Unites

George

What a time. What a time to to be living. Twenty twenty six. A lot of major sporting events happening these days. Heaps going on. Heaps going on. The world game. Are you a do you do you follow soccer? Or football, should I say?

Robby

Do I follow soccer?

George

Like any leagues.

Robby

No, I don't.

George

The only thing I watch is the World Cup.

Robby

Yeah, me too. I only watch it because I think it's I think it's very cool to watch the whole world come together.

George

Yeah. Oh man, you bang on with that. I saw these things. I've been seeing a lot of posts around this actually, how there was this guy in America saying, look at what's going on with the World Cup. Everyone's coming to our country. Everyone's celebrating their cultures, their life. Passion, passion, isn't it? You see someone at a bar, and it's not like fuck you if you're from Australia. It's like, oh my God, where are you from? Oh, we're here from Australia. Oh man, you should try these cowboy drinks or whatever it is, you know. They're like really embracing the culture. And then everyone's like, everyone's friendly. And he goes, We're seeing a celebration of life and competition. Oh, some guy, I can't, it was just a random, but the video went viral. And he goes, We're seeing a celebration of life, of unity, of all these things. And he goes, It makes me wonder it's people like people. He goes, It's the politicians that are creating the issues in the world. It's all the world leaders who suppose it could be. Iran came and played in the US. That's what I mean. Like they're and it would have been celebrated, and people were cheering and chanting. Oh, we lost. Oh man, good game. That was so much fun. And everyone's coming up with their chance. And you see, like, ah, it's so good. I think it's fucking great. So good.

Robby

It is so, so, so good.

George

There's not that many sports that do that either. I don't think any other sports does does that in the world.

Robby

The passion of the fans. Like you watch it and you're like, like people like crying because they're watching Messi, and it's like I mean, that's cool in itself.

George

You're watching a once in a generation player with you know Messi and Ronaldo and a lot of those guys. Neymar.

Robby

Or people crying because Ronaldo out. Yeah. You know what I mean? And and by the time this airs, the well, actually, this will air, George, as the final is playing, is being played. Yeah. This will drop.

George

How exciting. Yeah. Are you gonna watch it? Five hours. Yeah, I will, yeah. Yeah, I'll be up. I think I might actually go to the pub down the end of the street. Here. Yeah, on Vicab the Beach Hotel, I think it is. I think it is.

Robby

Yeah, okay. Um the Yeah, I I I like it, man. I I think it's very cool to watch. But there's also been um well, how closely have you followed it?

George

Out of a hundred? Yeah. Like fifty. Not even that, not even that close. But I I'll I'll watch, I won't watch full games of saying wasn't Australia. I'll watch snippets or I'll watch replays. Like I'll get home. It's like when I get home now, I don't watch TV, I put YouTube on first thing. And it's like one of the first things I'll go to. Yeah, it's oh it's funny how that's just been a habit, like it just happened. I didn't even flee. Yeah, it's like a TV.

Robby

I would dare say more people do that now.

George

Yeah, it doesn't go.

Robby

George, I've been on stages for three years now saying that YouTube's gonna throw it. Yeah, you have, you actually have said that for a long time. I've been saying it for a long time, and I'm like, YouTube's coming, YouTube's coming. Watch out, YouTube's coming. Like, yeah, it is the there's a stupid statistic on YouTube about the I don't know what it is off the top of my head. I've done I did a video about it. I think it's like I think it's like 2,000 hours of content gets uploaded every hour. Yeah. Or something. Don't quote me on that. Don't do not quote me on that. I'm pretty sure that's wrong. That's a lot, but it's a lot. Um, yeah, something like that. So yeah, but YouTube. Way to go. Um, but yeah, so you've been following it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Robby

Uh

Argentina Controversy And VAR Arguments

Robby

did you catch all the controversy around the Argentina and well, have you seen all the controversy around Argentina in general? No. Oh, you haven't seen the controversy around Argentina? No. Okay, have you seen the controversy around the Argentina Egypt game? No. You didn't?

George

No, I don't think I'd I know this game. Yeah, so you're not you're not following it. No, that's why I said 50. Oh, you've less said 50, shit.

Robby

Um that was I'm not following it religiously. Yeah, yeah. But I'll I'll I'll I'll get up for a good game. Yeah, yeah. But I'm not getting up at 2 a.m. Like I know people that getting up at 2 a.m. I'm like, dude, come on, man. Yeah, relax. Got work and shit. Obviously, an employee. I can't uh take a day off. I can't be doing that. Um so Argentina played Egypt. I'll give you the the short spill, right? And if you're if you're listening and uh you don't follow the World Cup, this will this will get you up to date. Argentina played Egypt, I can't, I think it was a quarterfinals or the one before, whatever. Uh, but it was a knockout match. So whoever loses goes out. And Egypt scored the first goal. Everyone was surprised. Argentina's favourite, right? They got like Messi, which is you know arguably one of the greatest players ever. And Egypt scores the first goal, and then uh Egypt fouled a player in for Argentina, but uh they didn't call the foul on the spot. They fouled him, and then from that play Egypt ran, scored. The VAR things that I got to virtual, which I think I think is good. I don't think it's bad. But some people hate it. But it's like you you've got more eyes on the field, it makes sense. Um they looked at it, the VAR thing, called it back, and they said, Hey, it's actually a foul back here. It's actually a foul, so the goal doesn't count. Yeah, so Argentina got the ball back, Argentina went to pass, Egypt intercepted, went and scored. Yeah, so they scored anyway. So they scored anyway. And then they're 2-0 up, so they got their goal. Same player, dude. Yeah, fucking wildly. Anyway, so they got their goal. Obviously, Argentina was off in that moment, and Egypt got their goal. 13 minutes left in the game or whatever it might be, 2-0 down, Argentina, they kick three goals and win the game. Every single, I might get hate for this, but every single, I'm gonna say every single Arab, many Arabs, not every single Arab, many Arabs, every Egyptian, without a doubt. It's rigged, corruption, fuck this sport, you know.

George

Why is it all happened because they want those 13 minutes? They copped three goals. Yeah, but as in Egypt stopped playing. Oh, I think Egypt just faded. Yeah, but that's what I mean. Like, how was that how were the three goals rigged? Unless they were free kicks, yeah. Are they were they all free kicks and then were penalty shots penalty shots? So then I don't see that's just that's what I'm saying.

Robby

Yeah, it's like how could you as an outsider now?

George

How can they uh having watched the game?

Robby

Yeah, it's like the most the ref can do is like not call a foul or call a foul that wasn't there. Yeah, that's all they can do. Yeah, they can either like give a penalty or whatever, but like how do they kick three goals on you?

George

Yeah, exactly. And you let them go like would you guys just stop playing or they they must have thought they won the game 13 minutes ago, we're 2-0 up.

Robby

Anyway, now uh because of that game, there's all this conspiracy around Argentina. Like there's it's it's well any anyone who follows the World Cup would have heard something about this, and something about you know, are they they're trying to help Messi win another World Cup? And you know, uh Argentina's had the easiest draw, and Argentina hasn't played a top 20 team this whole thing, and now we're recording this on Tuesday. I think they play tomorrow morning or the morning after.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Robby

Uh they're playing Spain, yeah, which top four team. Sorry, might not be Spain. No, it might be Spain.

George

Yeah, it is. It's France and who's the other one? England. Or is it the other way? I don't know.

Robby

Anyway, anyway, there's four teams, but uh nonetheless, they're playing a top four team.

George

Yeah, that's right. Now they are. They've got to win two hard games now.

Robby

Yeah, they've got to win two really, really hard games. Uh, but everyone's saying that you know, FIFA's corrupted.

George

Yeah, but that's been said for the last 50 years. Yeah. So do you think there's a docker on Netflix about it as well. Do you think it's corrupted? Yeah, I uh based off my limited knowledge, I reckon there would be deals going on and a whole range of stuff for sure. Like even with where the the uh Simon would be a great person to talk about this, actually. He could talk for hours. But he was telling me the other day, it's like even the awarding of the where the World Cup's gonna be played, as in what country it's gonna be played in. Yeah, that's apparently massively, massively rigged.

Robby

Like, Simon also believes everything he sees. That that is he is you know the confirmation bias, it's like you will see the things that make you believe what you already believe or it's like he's that to a T. Um, so you think it's it's rigged rigged.

George

What's whether it is now, but I don't know. What's the I think just people lining their pockets in a certain way. I I don't know if it's rigged to the extent that like I'm gonna give you a million bucks, bring the fourth copier. Absolutely, yes. I believe that that would be contributing to factors.

Robby

I believe that, yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, sure. I agree. I think that happens everywhere though.

George

Oh, without a doubt, it's happening in politics.

FIFA Influence And Politics At Play

Robby

I will know it's like I was uh in the sauna talking to this guy once and I was at the gym and he works in commercial construction.

George

Yeah.

Robby

And we're going back and forth, he's like, What do you do? And I told him, he's like, you know, I've never marketed before. And I said, I hate I hear that a lot. And he goes, Yeah, he's like, I just don't see the need to. And I was like, why? And he goes, because when we want to win a job, I just put 10k cash on the table and I get the job. He's like, I just pay the project manager or whoever's the deciding person in that company. Yeah. And I was like, Huh.

George

That's fucking wild. Yeah, yeah. Look, do you see it as a bribe? Would you see that as a body?

Robby

Of course that's a bribe.

George

How's that not a bribe? Uh I don't know. You could see it as a business transaction, a cost of doing business. I've given, I've given I've given, yeah, yeah. I've given finders fees to people. Yeah, yeah. Okay. But that's more so if the job if the project's referred to me. So for example, I've got a job where we've priced up. If we're successful in it, the person that referred me that job, I will give them a finder's fee. I'm not going to be like, hey, you're the person decided. Okay, I haven't done that. I haven't gone, Robby, you're the person deciding whether I will or lose this. A finder's fee is 10k. Let's make sure that we do win this.

Robby

Let me let me put it this way: a finder's fee is hey, we won, here's a reward. A bribe is hey, I'll pay you money, give me the fucking job.

George

We're getting the project.

Robby

Does that make sense? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna pay you money for it. Yeah. Because that's that's the difference between the two. It all comes down to the sequence that it happened in. Yeah, if I'm paying for it. That would be illegal.

George

Is that illegal? I don't know.

Robby

I'm curious to see if bribery is illegal.

George

No, I'm uh maybe it's not ethical, but is it illegal? Like I know, for example, is it illegal? Yeah, so an employee, if an employee did that at the at the company, that's I'm pretty sure that's illegal. But yeah, well, I think because there's any sort of cash transaction is technically Yeah, however, it might be, or it might be, hey, I'm gonna, but it could be, say, a subcontractor. I I know this there's definitely a law around it. I just can't remember it off the top of my head. But let's just say one of my employees said to the roofing contractor said, Hey, I'm gonna give you this project, but I need you to come and fix my roof at my house for free. All right. Then I'm pretty sure there's ramification for that transaction.

Robby

It's because they're um there's an influencing factor.

George

Yeah, but also what's to say, so he's not gonna give it to the other contractor who's more competitively priced per spy. Or he might say, knowing that the budget is fifty thousand dollars and this guy's come in at 39, say, hey, make it 45, but you're gonna come and fix my roof at my house.

Robby

Yeah, but so I think the the issue there isn't the come fix my roof. It's the they're not operating like so. I I assume under the contract or something, this is my assumption. I know if lawyers they have this thing where they have to operate in the best interest of the client. Yeah, yes, yes, yes. You know what I mean? Like so they'll a lawyer can't go and tell you to hire someone else who's more expensive because they'll get the issue they have then. I'm pretty sure this is lawyers, uh, is they didn't operate in your best interest because they took something external that was going to help them and said, Yeah, cool, go with this guy, even though he's more expensive. They chose that because they were getting a kickback. Yeah, you know what I mean? That's the illegal thing.

George

Does do builders have that? I think there's something in place for that. I can't fight the laws. Yeah, there's something around it.

Robby

Um, yeah, but so a lot of people. It's I feel like it's everywhere. Maybe it's just in my world, but everyone's saying like it's corrupt, it's corrupt, you know, it's rigged. And I've to me, like, don't tell me a game's rigged, because I won't watch it. Like, if you're gonna sit here and tell me it's what are we doing? Are we fucking stupid? Like, are we just sitting here watching a thing and we know it's rigged? That's silly to me. I don't watch movies because they're not real.

George

Come on, come on. Speaking of which, there's a movie coming out. Sorry to go a little bit off topic. There's a movie coming out called Odyssey. You heard about it?

Robby

I heard about it about an hour ago. Oh, did you huh? Yeah, funny. Tyle. Oh, I did you. He's like, I'm gonna watch Odyssey. I was like, what the fuck's that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he would have gone into great detail as well. No, he left. That did was very unsunny. That makes that's funny.

George

That why did you know what it was? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, no, it's well, odyssey, it's about the Greek that's the Greek mythology.

Robby

Oh, okay.

George

Did you ever watch Troy with Brad Pitt? No. Oh, you didn't watch that. Fuck. That's a good movie.

Robby

Yeah.

George

You gotta watch that. Anyway, they were what how do we got on? How do we get onto that topic? Oh, because of the movies. Yeah, like because they're not.

Robby

Because then it's it's like because my my version of sport that's not real is wrestling.

unknown

Yes.

Robby

And it's like, well, wrestling's entertainment, it's like movie.

George

Yeah, that's right, it's entertaining. Yeah, yeah. Unless you're watching a documentary or something like that.

Robby

Yeah, but I don't want to watch entertainment. Like, I'm not that's not what I'm there for. When I watch sports, I don't watch sports, it's entertaining, yeah, but the the thing that makes it entertaining is the competition.

George

And also the unknown. Yeah. Yeah, but I mean, all that you kind of get that in movies if there's an unknown to a movie.

Robby

No, no, but it's like the comp the competitive aspect.

George

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Knowing that this isn't fixed. Yeah. Yeah, exactly right. You don't want the result to be predetermined.

Robby

Yeah, that's what uh for me, that's what I like uh in sports. But yeah, please continue about uh Odyssey.

George

Oh no, I I was just gonna go down the path how the the casting um the casting of that movie has been quite controversial with who they've selected as lead roles in the movie. So they had Helen of Troy, who was um who should be a person of European descent, and they've got um as a uh I can't remember the actress's name, but she's a black lady and just doesn't portray that person at all. They had something else.

Robby

So they've got a black person playing a white person?

George

Yeah, yeah, pretty much. But then you see Yeah, that's it. 100%. And then all these memes came out following, like they had a a movie about Barack Obama, Barack Obama, and it was played by Ryan Gosling, which is pretty funny. Um what else was that? There was a coup there's a few other things around it, but yeah, a lot of the casting um issues around it was no good. Oh, I think they had a they've got Achilles being played by a transgender person. So a girl that has now become a guy. So they've got Achilles being played by that person who should be like probably the epitome of you know a masculine, you know, person back in the day. You've heard Greek mythology.

Robby

Are they doing it just to mess with you?

George

No, they're I well apparently the so Christopher Nolan, the director, there's to win an Academy Award, you need to qualify with certain criteria, and some of that criteria is your inclusion, your diversity, uh a whole bunch of shit like that. And then that it's argued that you know their creative prowess into the movie, and it's arguably he's doing it to be able to qualify to get a an Oscar. So changing the changing the rules to try and um to try and win a prize. But yeah, going back to what you said with uh the World Cup, the one thing that I noticed where I started to I laughed when it happened was when Trump called Trump Trump called up the FIFA boss and got the red card overturned for that USA player.

Robby

Isn't it yeah, that's another like that's is that not a tell of corruption?

George

Yeah, absolutely. That like you've got okay, it's Trump. Who cares? I know, I know, but he's you've got the most powerful man in the world that's given you a buzz. But I would still stick to my guns and say, cool, we'll review it, and then just review it and say, No, the penalty's there. Okay, that we've reviewed it, we've given you the chance, but in a hundred years of the competition, with this has happened once, and that one time it happened was probably genuine. I don't know if it was. When they've when they've overturned a red card.

Robby

Oh, they've overturned a red carpet.

George

Only once in the history of FIFA that they've actually done it. And I don't know what that time was, but regardless, you've had an external politician effectively call up FIFA and influence that decision. Now, who knows? Trump could have said, Hey, this guy's playing, I'll I'll give you 10 mil. Or this guy's playing, you won't have a knock on the door from people when you're home eat with the case. Yeah, or this guy's whatever it is.

Robby

I won't release the Epstein files.

George

Yeah, exactly. Whatever it is, whatever it is. He either had something on him or he's given him enough of a reason to make the change. And then it's like, really, like and it was, I think it was just poetic justice that the USA lost 4-0 or something like that. Belgium would have been upset. Yeah, but I would have been upset if I was any country, if I was any player that got a red card. If I was any other country, like I think the UK, I think they had someone that got a red card. No, no, no, yeah, UK, I think they had someone that had a red card. I would have appealed it right there and then. I said, hang on, if we're just overturning things, like we're yeah, we're gonna appeal all our red cards. I'll get the PM to give you a buzz. Is that all right? Is that what it takes? The um so that to me is blatant. That to me is blatant. It is, it's very annoying. Uh, you see the ice, do I see it? It it seems to be rife in politics as well. Corruption. Yeah, just with here it's like a lot of the stuff, it just doesn't make sense. Like, how fucking dumb do you have to be? When you're talking about spending $13 million on 20 machete bins that don't even work, like someone's getting their pockets lined. When you're spending $70,000 to change a plaque because it had a spelling mistake for two bronze plaques, you know, this big. Come on, mate. That doesn't cost $70,000. So something somewhere it's going astray. They're like, okay, cool, I'll give you that much money, but you're gonna do this, this, and this for me. Or you're gonna, I'm gonna give you this much money, and then that's gonna come back because you're gonna support us in our next campaign for running for state. Whatever it's gonna be. So you're seeing uh I'm seeing it there. Um have you ever have you ever been tempted to be tempted by corruption?

Bribes Vs Finder’s Fees In Business

Robby

Yeah, I'll share a story. When I was a real estate agent. So I'll share this story. I don't I didn't do anything wrong, in my opinion. When you when you're so I was a I was a real estate agent, I was a sales agent, and I was selling this property as a fucking hole, dude. Yeah, I can't remember the address now, but uh it was in Coburg and uh it was a it was a it was it was just a a derelict property. Yeah, it was like unlivable, unlivable shit.

George

All right, yeah. So knock down rebuild, investors' dream.

Robby

For sure, I I never walked in.

George

Is that bad?

Robby

They didn't take photos inside.

George

Yeah, yeah, which when they do that, it's fucked.

Robby

Yeah, it was just like cool, like this is yeah, this is whoever buys this is gonna knock it down uh or maybe keep the facade. Uh anyway. And we used to do the concept of like uh I can't even remember what it's called, but it's like you put in your it's like it's almost like a silent auction. Yep. Like you put in your bid and um Is that like off market? No, no, it was advertised. Yeah, I can't remember what it's called. Anywho, nevertheless, I had a guy come to me and he's like, hey, um I'll I'll give you some cash if you can get it for me. And I said, look, we we are engaged with the vendor, I've got a contract with the seller of the property, I've got to follow what they want. Like I I need to have their best interests at heart. Of course. So I cannot sell this to you. So let's say for example, if it comes at $500,000 and your offer is $480, I can't give it to you for $480,000. And someone else is willing to pay $500 and I kind of push them all.

George

I can't say that's not fair. Yeah, absolutely. I said, what I will do though, is I'll tell you where you need to be. Yeah, well, I don't see an issue with that. If you especially if we're getting a lot of interest. Hey, that's what I'm saying.

Robby

Who's interesting? But like I'll just like, dude, I'll tell you where you need to be. Yeah, I'll tell you what I've got. And if you're willing to top it, you're willing to top it. That's what I'll do for you.

George

Yeah, but that's that's just a part of negotiation.

Robby

Yeah, but you but you're supposed to be not telling people. Okay. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

Robby

So but my thing was like, okay, cool, dude. Like, I will look after you if you look after me, and I will tell you where you need to be, but I I can't give it to you for less. And he was like, okay. So it's in you telling him the buyer's reserve. So no, no, no, no. Cause that because then that means I would say, like, with those other buyers. So then Just say this thing was gonna sell, dude. I'm pretty sure this was a mortgage e property, the more I'm remembering now.

George

Right. So it was selling regardless. It was selling regardless. If you had an offer at 490, you would tell him, A, you can't be at 480. Yeah, I'd be like 490 plus.

Robby

I've got if you can give me 495, we can get it done. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Like if you can give me that, we can get it done. Uh and I think it was like it was roughly around 600k-ish thereabouts. Um and yeah, and he got he was a developer and he was like, Cool, okay, all right, I'm I'm in. So um it had it was like by a certain time, closed bid, sealed bid, some shit like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Robby

Uh anyway, so I went and met him an hour before the time, and I said, Cool, this is where it's at. And then he goes, All right, I'm not willing to I'm not willing to top that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Robby

Yeah. And I was like, all right, cool. And he paid me. And I was like, great.

George

Oh, but so he did pay you. Yeah. Just to tell you where it was at.

Robby

I had I had vital information. And he was like, I'll give you cash to tell me where I need to be. And if it's where I want to be, I'll buy it. And if it's not, I don't like. I don't want to come in with and put a blind bid. And I was like, that's fair. I thought the rule was stupid about the blind bid thing anyway, but um, yeah. And I told him, I said, this is where it's at, this is what we've got on it. Well, I can't remember, maybe it was like $585 or something. And he was like, No, I'm not willing to pay more than that. Well, that's that's what it's you'll see. That's what's gonna be the sold price. That's the highest bid we've got. Yeah, yep, yep. Yeah, I mean, so I didn't the only person I technically didn't do the right thing by was the other buyer. Oh, yeah, because they would if you because that person's gone in and put a blind bid, and it's like he would have lost by five grand.

George

Yes, yes.

Robby

And he thinks, ah, bad luck. And it's like, well, not really.

George

He'll you got yeah, but also you got you would have come up on top anyway, because if there was no other and you waited until the last minute too. Yeah, if you got to the last I can't fuck the guy who's paying. No, that's right. That's right. But it's at then you at the end of the day, you got a better price than what was submitted. Uh yeah, yeah, that was my you'd have got a better price.

Robby

That was my number one rule. It's like, cool, dude. Like, we cannot, I can't breach my contract here. You know what I mean? Like, I will get fucked for this, and I'm not like I'm you know what I mean? Yeah, for not willing to do it. 200 bucks, it's not whatever it is. Yeah, it's more than 200 bucks. Yeah, super clear. Um, but it was uh yeah, it's 20 bucks. 20 bucks. He bought me lunch. Um yeah, and he he was he was willing to do that, and that that did influence my decision. The second he said it, I was like first. I was like, I can't do what you're saying. Yeah, like he wants me to just get it for him for. I was like, nah, I can't do that, dude. Like, I'm not like that's fucked. And I have no doubt, I don't know, just to be clear, I don't know of anyone that's done this like directly in front of me. But I have no doubt that there would be agents that would do it.

George

What if uh I I think do you reckon everyone has a level of corruption? Yeah. There's there's gotta be a there's a price, isn't there? Because what if that same guy said to you, listen, tell me where it's at, tell me where I can get this, and I'll give you half a million dollars. If the if the deal was big enough. Yeah, I guess. You know what I mean? Yeah. So does it get to the point like, fuck, okay. Or say, hey, you know that new car, oh, this car, keys are yours. I'll transfer papers tomorrow. So that way there's no monetary cat uh transfer. It's literally just you pay the transfer fee, car's yours. And then there you go. So I'm sure there's a level, I'm sure a lot of people could be swayed in that regard. I had a to some degree, yeah. Yeah, to some degree, absolutely. I was speaking to a friend, actually.

Robby

Yeah.

George

And he,

Suitcases Of Cash And Risk

George

I think I told you this story actually. And he was telling me he wanted some input from myself about a development, a deal that he was doing with some overseas investors. And they literally, these guys came up to him and said, Cool, here's here's a suitcase. All right, this is to buy the site, and then this suitcase is for you. And literally they he goes, they had half a million dollars in one suitcase for me to go put a deposit on this property. And he goes, Oh, here's the 250. That's your cut. And he was like, Hey, I can't, I can't do that. He actually pulled away from it. He goes, I can't do that. He goes, I can't actually go and buy make a transaction with someone. I can't go up to this site over here and say, Yeah, I've got half a million dollars in cash. I'm gonna give you that. I want to put a deposit down on the site. He goes, it'll ask too many questions. And then even with himself, he was like, I can't take that money because I don't like how am I going to dispose of it? It's gonna ask too many. I can't go to the bank and go, here, I want to deposit 250k. They're gonna say, Well, how'd you get it? Where did it come from? And I can't answer any of those questions. So, um, but I thought it was quite surprising because I'm I'm not over-exaggerating with those numbers, by the way. Like it was, it was a I can't look, I can't remember if it was 250, but I remember it was a a significant amount of money.

Robby

I I remember when you told me I'm pretty sure it was more than 250.

George

Yeah, was it? Might have been. I can't remember. I'm pretty sure I said you would have taken it. What an idiot.

Robby

I what I dude, 100% I would have taken that. Without a doubt in the world. And I think everyone listening this would agree.

George

Um I I'd say the nervousness around it would be well, where the money came from overseas because they were I know, I know, but I'm just saying Australian dollars. It was in Australian dollars.

Robby

Yes, it was in Australian dollars. Um I'm not saying I would I'm not saying this is what you should do, but I'm saying that uh it would have been very I've never been in that position. Me either. Uh I think it would have been quite difficult to pass up.

George

Yeah, I think a lot of people would uh would have been quite difficult to pass up.

Robby

Yeah, I just think it's um it's you gotta ask yourself in that position, like how much has there been what's the you gotta look at the risk and the reward.

George

I'm sure there's there's there'd have to be some sort of laws around that.

Robby

What's the what's the what's the risk?

George

I don't know, like is it money laundering? Like is there because you don't know where the money's come from. Is it come from blood diamonds? Like, I don't know. Like, is there is there rules around it? The fact that the government would not want you to get a payday and not pay tax.

Robby

That's what I'm saying. Worst case scenario. So it's tax evasion to a degree.

George

Yeah. No, no, but I'm saying if you got caught with that money and said, well, where did you get this money from? Like, oh, I did a deal. Well, you owe the ATO 40%.

Robby

So okay, so what do you think like the fucking, you know, Uncle Sam's gonna walk into your thing and say, Dad, what do you get to?

George

No, no, but yeah, if it ever came to fruition, and I don't know, that that's I suppose that's where the fear might have come in for him. And he's like, Well, shit, as you said, Uncle Sam might come in knocking on the door saying, pay your dues. It's it's not I think that must have been the fear for him, and that is.

Robby

Yeah, I look, I understand that, but I also think there is an element of like how controlled by your government are you?

George

Yeah, a lot. But that's I think that's been evident with especially here in Australia post-COVID, is what it's shown me. I think a lot of people are. We are very compliant people.

Robby

Yeah, that that that is the highest form of compliance.

George

Yeah, in that instance, yeah, because he wasn't thinking, oh, this is great, it's gonna set up my family for the rest of my life, or I'm gonna go buy a new boat or a new car or a new jet ski or whatever I'm gonna do, go on a family holiday. He was literally thinking the first thing he might have thought was the ATO's gonna be after me and I'm going to jail.

Robby

Yeah, but like, yeah.

George

Anyway, I don't know.

Robby

I don't want to incriminate myself. Yeah. On the podcast. No, but like, I don't know. If I've a friend of a friend told me. Um could spend it. Yeah, I don't I don't agree with that. Um, but like you could spend it on items that wouldn't otherwise be like go buy groceries, go enjoy nice dinners, go and go holidays here and there. Yeah, go spend some money in France. I get a watch story.

George

Yeah, exactly. Anyway, uh I'm sure there'd be elements of it. He is more uh law-abiding citizen than what you are, yeah. Oh dude.

SPEAKER_01

It's like you say that that thing, so if ever I won the lottery, I would never tell anyone, but there would be signs. That's that's exactly what you would rock up in the morning.

SPEAKER_03

Robbie's got no shirt on and coal chains.

Robby

Uh speaking of Law Abiding Citizen, that's a great movie. Have you seen it? Stop it. Stop it, you have to have seen. Of course I have. Jared Butler. Five movie. Top five. Have you seen three hundred?

George

Yeah, I haven't seen 300.

Robby

What sort of a group are you? Yeah, a bad one. Um, top five movie, Law Abiding Citizen. Yep. It was a good movie. Yeah. Very good. His his his missus and his daughter get uh raped and murdered, and then you like that you want to drive the man insane? Do that in front of him, like do that. That's the thing that's gonna he's now he's gonna kill you all, of course. And you you like him for it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you're cheering for him the whole time the whole time.

Robby

Get him the whole time, get him. How are you taking your time with this? Um all right, corruption. There

Conor McGregor Injury Conspiracy Talk

Robby

was also another event. The UFC was on last week. Oh yes. Connor McGregor, big return, and um biggest listen. I I believe Connor McGregor is you know, every sport has that person who takes it to unseeable heights. Michael Jordan was that for basketball, Tiger Woods was that for golf. Do you know what I mean? It's like the the the person who just takes, I would I would dare say Roger Federer was that for tennis, you know. It doesn't mean he's the goat, it just means he's the person who put this fucking thing on the map. Yeah, do you know what I mean? Uh I I would I just for the record, anyone listening, if you think Michael Jordan's a goat, um, he's third on the list. Oh, third. Yeah. There you go, pretty cool. Third best player. He's very good. Yeah, he's not he's no LeBron James, but he's very good. Uh but Conor McGregor was that for MMA.

George

Yeah. Yep, yep, yep, yep.

Robby

Conor McGregor was that for MMA. I would dare say, like who's bigger than him? In MMA. Yeah.

George

No one did it. Yeah, who had a bigger name than him? Like, there's some famous people there, and they've done all right with themselves.

Robby

Dude, no one, no one even comes close.

George

Well, he sort of he was just the trendsetter, wasn't he? When he first when he first came on the scene, he was he was very skilled too. Like he was a very good fighter. He backed up his mouth. That was the other thing. So he would come out, put on a show, and he won the titles. There's no denying it. And then I think he just went, oh not I think, he went sideways with the fame, the success, with everything that followed. I was looking forward to the fight. I bought the fight. I told you, I'm spewing. It was the worst $60 I've ever spent in my life. Um, because I was out for breakfast in the morning, and then that went that went a little bit later. So when I got home, I thought I better quickly buy it. I bought it, so because I was gonna watch that fight. I thought, yeah, what I'll pay 60 bucks to watch this fight. It was over in 10 seconds.

Robby

Yeah, UFC 329, it was um it was I'm sure people have heard about it at this point. But well, you saw it all the arguably the biggest letdown in MMA history. You've got the biggest the biggest star the sport has ever seen, and five-year layoff. Last time he was in there, broke his leg. Yeah, broke both bones in his leg, like snapped his leg. And went on a bender for five years. And uh recently, maybe I say recently, maybe six months ago, eight months ago. I don't know what he did. I think he went to Peru or Mexico or something in the jungles, had some experience, and has become this religious in-line uh he he seemed like he was back.

George

Yeah, he seemed pretty switched on. Like then you heard the controversy, sorry, the conspiracy coming in after the f after that happened.

Robby

Well, that's you see that that's that's exactly what I'm I'm alluding to. Like he comes back, he does all this, and then he gets in the ring and pulls his knee or whatever he does, pops his knee out or hurts his knee.

George

Yeah, I don't know. They said he might have done an ACL. ACL is a good thing. But I've I've strained my ACL before when I was playing football, and I didn't I didn't tear it. And I remember it being one of the most excruciating things that's ever happened to me. And I was just running in a straight line and I heard this massive pop, like it was literally pop, and then I went straight to the ground, like holding my knee, like what the fuck's just happened? Because I'd never experienced anything like that before either. And so I don't know if he's taught if he tore an ACL, because if he tore an ACL, I don't think he would have even been able to stand, let alone try to fight again. But when you see it, like the way his knee moved, and you could actually see the muscles in his on the side of his knee, like you saw them sort of move, you saw the movement there. There was no denying it. And then I think it happened in such a way that it if you've had an injury like that before or any type of injury, it's instant. Because he he didn't like, oh, I've hurt myself. He instantly gave way and went down. So I don't think it was a I don't think it was fake. I don't think he did anything to fake it. I reckon it genuinely happened. Did it happen before that's the thing that they say, but even then, how would you know? Because he was practicing those, that, that um, so he launched off his left leg, kicked with his left leg, but before after he lands a kick, he lands with his right, he lands with his right. Okay, so he was practicing that in the warm-up before. So did he injure himself then? And then people saying when he took his shoe off, he's kind of hopped a little bit. I just reckon he took his shoe off and hopped a little bit. I don't think he actually did anything there, but yeah, it's interesting. And then there was a person that put $900,000 on um on Max to win, and he won 1.3 mil or something like that. So everyone was saying, oh, that was Connor that did put that bet on, so he could win a quick 400,000. Um so yeah. You reckon someone okay. I don't think it was I don't think that was rigged in anyway. I reckon he genuinely hurt himself. The um just that makes sense. What's the advantage to him to rig that? Like someone give him a massive payout. Let's discuss that. He runs the goal, he made a goal got a lot of money. He doesn't need more money. Do you know what I mean? The purse wasn't the reason he was coming back.

Robby

Yeah, but so I I agree, and I also think his level of stardom is if he needed money and he didn't want to fight, he could do something else. He could just be an Instagrammer, yeah. He's got a lot of influence, yeah. Um and but I've got people left, right, and center, people I know, people on Instagram, the theories of you know, the conspiracies and the corruption, saying like he knew, came in, like, you know, I of course, wouldn't you just if if you could do that whole build up? This is I don't believe this by the way. Uh, but people saying to me, like, if you could do that whole build-up and you could come in and fake an injury straight away and get paid 30 mil, wouldn't you do it? And I'm like, why? I I don't think he's that's what he's doing.

George

Yeah. Why bother just why bother coming back? Why bother the training camp? Yeah, everything. They're getting hit in the face. Like, why bother? There's easier ways to make money, and I've got no doubt. No, I'm just saying, like, why go through that whole thing? There's no, there is no advantage to it. It's actually detrimental to his brand, I think what's happened. Massively detrimental. So I don't think there's if that was on purpose, like he's that's hugely detrimental.

Robby

So I don't see that being I I would say it's a bad move.

George

Yeah, exactly right. Exactly right. So I can't see that being anything other than a freak accident. Now, he's 35, 36, 37, 37, okay. Is it age? Has it just caught up with him? You know, he's broken his leg, he's done his ACL now, assuming I haven't seen anything come out since. But he's done some sort of an injury that it couldn't meant he couldn't fight. Is he gonna return again? And if he does return, he said he is. He said he is, but like what's that? Is there gonna be much hype around that? I think there will. Yeah, I I'd hope he wins. Like, how disappointing if he comes back and doesn't win.

Robby

Yeah, I I honestly thought he wasn't winning that fight.

George

Oh, really?

Robby

Yeah, I thought there's no like Max Holloway is just too experienced, just been there the whole time. He has not stopped his fighting two, three years, two, three times. I'm sorry, two, three times every year.

George

Yeah.

Robby

Uh fighting consistently, winning big fights, fighting beyond the means. So, like you could see he was not shook at all at Holloway. Oh no, neither was I feel like I'm ready.

George

And I just thought, yeah, there's no way funny how that was 13 years ago, that first fight that they had. Yeah. And or maybe it's been 13 years that he's been in the fight game, sorry. Yeah, so uh yeah, that's it it's very interesting stuff. Very interesting stuff. The I mean the t Wimbledon has been on as well during this time. The tennis, yeah. Yeah, that I think that got overshadowed by the World Cup this year.

Robby

Do you think um Do you think the UFC is corrupted? There's corruption in the UFC.

George

Do you reckon Dana White would be easily corruptible? Like I don't he doesn't seem like the type. Do you know what I mean?

Robby

Yeah, but then he hangs around Trump.

George

And you just think like I think before Trump was president as well though, I think they had a bit of a relationship going on there too.

Robby

Yeah, yeah, they did. Um but yeah, I don't know. I don't know. You know, is it um because it puts it put it it for me personally, like it puts me off the whole thing. Because I was like, hey, if this is all like just corruption and I I don't think anyone could stage something that big. Like I get how FIFA can be corrupted, like I kind of like I can see how you know, hey man, they go and they've got their own refs and they pay the refs and say, hey, you know, you need to favor this team or make it hard or blah blah blah. And they they do things to swing it in a certain way. But like, how do you do that with fighting?

George

Yeah, but also it's like you you almost have to get everyone on board with that too, because okay, the ref might make some bad calls, doesn't really stop the other team's ability to score some goals. Yeah, as in completely yes, it's less advantageous, but I'm saying they could still score two, three, four goals and win the game. Like they could still have all those things stacked against them with the refs not going their way with whatever it might be and still win the game. Uh it's probably less likely, unless you're paying every single player, you know, off and say, Hey, you're having a bad game today because I need this team to win because I've got a massive purse on it.

Robby

But then it would leak.

George

Yeah, exactly.

Robby

Exactly. You feel like it would leak and people would find out that this has corrupted and blah blah blah.

George

Yeah.

AFL Equalization And Hidden Deals

Robby

Um do you think there's corruption in the AFL?

George

Look, it wouldn't surprise me if something was going on. Yeah. Yeah. I I like as in I'd be disappointed if I found out that there was.

Robby

Do you think um Hawthorne paid the refs to give away a 50-meter penalty when it wasn't against Carlton?

George

I was I orchestrated that. I was the one that paid him. Was that not the biggest fucking Come on, dude? I saw it. I saw it. I was watching the game. I was watching the game. I was almost there. You watched the footy? Yeah, could have called me. We could have we cussed. Actually, I actually ended up, my mate called me up out of the ran out of the blue, and he goes, Hey, I've got tickets to the game. Do you want to go? He went and like, no fucking way.

SPEAKER_01

Seriously, dude.

George

That was the most horrific game to be at. Hey, there were 70,000 people at that game. I couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe it. Anyway, he goes, You want to go to the game?

Robby

Yeah, they said crowd attendance. Yeah, I saw the numbers here.

George

So I go, nah, I'll I go, nah, dude. I'm not going to the game tonight. If if it was drizzling, I'd consider, but not that was Pelt.

Robby

Yeah, or if it was at like uh Marvel or something, you're like, all right, there's a roof here.

George

That's right. You should consider it. That was unwild. I haven't seen I haven't seen wet weather footy like that for a very long time. I can't even remember.

Robby

That is the most wet game I've ever seen.

George

Yeah, so the yeah, that I mean, the that was bad call. He literally called play and then he goes, nah, 50. So he didn't finish the play on.

Robby

I thought I think he thought he handled it because the guy, your Hawks play, I don't know who it was. Oh, he thought he did it. And he thought he handled it and he's like, play on. Yeah, and he goes, Oh, no. And then uh playing forward, he's like, ah no uh 50. He's like, dude, come on, ball it up or something. Yeah, yeah. Like you're fucked up. Or play on. Yeah, but I guess um he's probably spending that cash hole now that is uh slipped over thing by the president of the look.

George

I don't think so. I don't think that I don't I don't think there is, but I'm sure there's deals being made here and there under the table with certain things. I reckon where it might happen, it's like player movements. Say, all right, I can't afford my salary cap to pay you this much money. However, under table. Yeah, that's right. However, if you come with us, I'm sure I can speak to my repit Puma, and you'll get a few endorsements through them. And or I've spoken to my repit Puma as long as I'm gonna do it.

Robby

I don't see that as I don't see that as my thing. If you haven't caused harm, I'm good with it.

George

I don't care about the rules. I was gonna say, but the rules uh are the rules in what are the rules in place for? They're there to protect the integrity of the game or to make it more even. Yeah, but like if that's what they want because AFL defin like AFL AFL want next year, uh they want Freo to win the grand final this year, but then next year they want Essendon to win it.

Robby

Why?

George

Because they want equalization. They want it to be an even thing because if all the clubs get a chance to win, they don't want what's happened recently.

Robby

Why don't they let Carlton win?

George

No, I'm just saying, yeah, like those types of teams. They want the teams that have it. You're going to AFL wants Carlton to win? Yeah, absolutely. 100%, man. Carlton are like Richmond. Well, like Richmond. They're a big club. They want like man. When they're up and about, they're up and about. When Richmond was going through the shit and then they won two or three premierships, whatever they were going through, every Richmond supporter and like everyone went for Richmond. Everyone you spoke to was a Richmond supporter. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? They all came out of the exactly right. They all came out of the woodworks. So they want Carlton to go out there and win a premiership. They want Essendon. Like Essendon Carlton.

Robby

They don't do anything, is what I'm alluding to. Like with what? You're saying that they want they would want it.

George

I think they're just going to make Who's they? The people that run AFL. They would give them an easier draw. They would give them additional draft picks, like in the following year. They'd make it easier for them to do so. I don't like that. No, I I kind of agree. Like it's it's it's punishing the teams that have done really well for themselves. Like I'm again, I go for the Hawks. I think they're a very well-run club. I think they've done very well for themselves over the years. Um, I can I can't complain. I've seen so many premierships in my time that I've been following football. But then again, you look at other teams like Geelong, who like I don't like Geelong, I've never have. There's a rivalry between us, but credit to them. Yeah, like they're they've been up the top longer than anyone else. I think they've maybe bottomed out more than anyone else. I think they've bottomed out maybe a couple years at the most, but they've always been competitive and they're going again, they're going again, they've always re-topped their players to be a threat in finals. And you're you're you're making it a disadvantage for clubs like that because they've gone out and taken the risk, they've gotten the good sponsors, they've gotten worked harder. Yeah, it's it's gonna say it's hard work, yeah. Exactly. It's not like, oh, we're just gonna do this because we're bored. That's and this is like look at these other clubs that are going, oh poor me, we've got a we've had lots of injuries. Oh, we had like Essendon. Essendon are a basket case. I think they're fucked at the moment. Like I just cannot see the way out for them for the next five years. I reckon they're gonna be down. Just what are they gonna do? They're gonna lose any talent they have right now, they're gonna lose it.

Robby

Yeah, but they get someone who comes in and and begins a rebuild. Let's hope they do. Like, I do remember when Melbourne was going through that.

George

Yeah, Melbourne and Hawthorne dude didn't. Melbourne and Hawthorne almost merged. I remember uh 1996.

unknown

Jesus.

George

1996, they were gonna merge, they're gonna be called the Melbourne Hawks. See what I mean? I remember that time like it was yesterday because I was such a passionate little kid in grade six following the Hawks. And yeah, it was like, I can't believe that this is happening. This is the lowest ever. Uh, but you know, credit to them. They brought themselves back and did what they did. But I think Esendon's in a in dire straits at the moment because they're gonna lose any talent they've got right now, they're gonna leave, and they're gonna have to rebuild through the draft or try and attract some new players to come through that are gonna be happy to be at the bottom of the ladder for the next few years for hopeful success in the future. They've got Tasmania coming into the competition after 27, I think. After so, not next year, the year after. So all those draft picks are going straight to Tazzy for the next few times, for the next year or two or however the system works. So they're in trouble, they're in trouble there. And then it's like, okay, well, who are you gonna bring in as coach? They're talking about bringing Heard in because they want an Essendon person. Like, is Heard the best player, uh best person for that role? I don't know. I I've I've actually met Heard and spoken to him a few times. He seems like a great guy. I don't I think he got shafted during the supplement scandal back then. I think he just got hung out to dry because he was driving the football club at the time, and it's like, well, you should have known. And it's like, well, I'm not a fucking doctor, it's happened, and now I've got to take responsibility because that's we've got to go down with the ship. So he's probably got some marketing business. No, I don't think so. I think they yeah, I don't think so. Because that's that's another form of like corruption. Yeah, well, they were bending the rules. They were trying to get a competitive edge on the competition, and either someone knew about it and actually went in there and it was to to destroy the club, or they just were dumb and didn't do their checks and balances. Um like if I was a player then, like I know Ryder, I think his name was Patty Ryder. Uh someone, someone was their their their ruckman, a few players. If I was at SNN and I got jabbed and then I got suspended for 12 months, I would have sued the club. You've just taken that's that's how I make a living, mate. I've just been suspended for 12 months. I I I might have done a brown low this year, I might have won Mark of the Year, I might have done a thousand and one things. You've taken 12 months of me playing the game. I'm gonna sue you for everything you've got because you've got a duty to care uh to me as the employer as employee of your club, and you've jabbed me with something unknown, untested, whatever it might be. I would have been so filthy on them if I was a player at that time, trusting them with my livelihood. I'm surprised not more came out of that from that perspective, in all honesty. I'm sure they um made some deals. But still, like Dyson Heppel, like he that was he I don't know if he was out what part of his career he was in, but would he have won a Brownlow that year? You know, you never know. I think he's he's a lot of uh quite a few of them stayed true and and stuck it out.

Robby

Yeah. He didn't um that was a long time ago. Um but you know, going back to the um the whole talk around corruption, it's like okay, you said the AFL is all about equalizing things, right? And trying to get it trying to give us as much fairness.

George

Yeah, would you say? Yeah, absolutely, equalization.

Robby

Okay, but then the the other side of that is like the real world, the real world doesn't do that. Yeah, the real world doesn't say, hey, all your employees, oh no, no, I'm gonna make sure like even though uh you've been the shittest salesperson, you haven't won a bonus yet, and everyone else got the bonus, I'm gonna make it a big thing.

George

We're gonna give you the bonus right because they've worked so hard, they'll give you some bonus too. You know, hopefully you're okay with that.

Robby

Yeah, we're gonna make you employee the month this month. It's like, no, that that doesn't happen in the real world. But the other side is like if if in the biggest uh companies or the biggest uh you know organizations, places like FIFA and the UFC, if there's corruption there, who's to say there's not corruption in companies where it's like well then so it's like I think people would say this like kill or be killed. Yeah, but no, but that's not that's that's not corruption. You can kill or be killed without corruption.

George

Yeah, yeah, but if is it winning at any ex at any cost? So they're trying like they're trying to why what's the purpose of being of doing something outside of the rules to get an advantage personally or professionally? Corruption doesn't mean breaking the rules. What does it mean? So what are we defining corruption as then?

Robby

I would say corruption. To do something wrong.

George

They're doing something wrong for what reason?

Robby

Yeah, but so like if you if a footy player punches another footy player, he's not corrupted.

George

No, no, that's right. He did something wrong. But if he let's just say if he yeah, he did. Yeah. Say if he did it, he he was paid to do it so that they don't win the ground mode this year.

Robby

Yeah, but then that is the corruption is in the pay, not in the do. Not in the action. Does that make sense? That's the corruption. Um then it's because it's like the complete opposite end of it's like one end is like making everything fair, and you know, let's not keep score and this is all gay, and then the other side is like, hey, you know, the real world is almost in the middle, and it's like, hey man, you need to go and fend for yourself. But then the other side is like, even if you fend for yourself, like if if there's a level of corruption in what you're doing, you're not going to win unless you play the game at that level. Does that make sense?

George

Yeah, it does.

Robby

Yeah, and it's like um uh modern philosopher.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know who you're talking about. I don't talk about modern day philosophy.

Robby

Very, very, very famous as a very well known online uh Andrew Tate, he goes, corruption's everywhere, and why wouldn't I live where it's more accessible? And that was just a thing of I'm not saying you should follow this guy or anything like that. I don't know where he's gone if he's still alive, but um it was one of those things of like that's a fucking good point. Like that's a fucking solid point you make there. Yeah, you know, you say some fuck shit, but that that was solid.

George

He he's actually he actually says some quite intelligent things as well. Like he's not a he's not a dumb guy, but he's playing the system, like he's looking at and that's what I mean. It's a it's those people have that mindset of well, like it's gonna happen.

Robby

But what is it? What is it? Do

Streamer Fame And Corruption Everywhere

Robby

you think it's luck? Like you know, I was watching this thing the other day. You know, like these streamers, have you seen some of these streamers dude? No, with what some of these guys who just stream all the time and and they are like wildly rich and famous. Have you do you know anything? You don't know you got no.

George

Like game, like gaming.

Robby

Yeah, but no, like I'm talking about people who just sit in front of a fucking computer streaming on Twitch.

George

Yeah, so I thought Twitch was very game centric. Like as in you're twitching, so uh what is it? What's it called? Twitch?

Robby

Twitch is a streaming system.

George

Yes, yeah. So you're there and you're playing the game and then you're sort of narrating as you're playing the game.

Robby

I'm gonna kill this guy, I'm gonna do like that's like one oh fuck this guy, and then they go, they all that's that's game streaming.

George

Yeah, but there's people who just stream like and just sit there, you'd have no idea who they are. I've never seen it. Nah, no chance. Like I mean, I might have seen if I I might have come across them before in passing.

Robby

Dude, for sure you've come across them.

George

Like who?

Robby

If I showed you some people, I think you wouldn't have to be awful. I think I would recognise.

George

I think I think I know of some of the people. You know, is there like some real skinny, scrawny kid? It's a bit of a nerd that looks like a nerd. I know he's like real famous for doing I think he was a gamer or something like that.

Robby

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

George

I don't know his name.

Robby

He's always with like chicks and stuff like that.

George

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Robby

Um, there's people like that. There's people uh like you know, Sneeko. I don't know if you've ever heard of Sneeko. Sounds familiar. Um, or uh like Aiden Ross. See, I could never watch that shit.

unknown

Huh?

George

I don't think I've got Aiden Ross watching.

Robby

I don't know what Aiden Ross, I think he plays MBA or something. Like he he's like gambling with Dana White, like betting millions. He's into like, like you're in your 20s. Like, how?

George

Do you know what I mean? And then you look at the must be getting that that much coin from what they're doing, they're getting eyeballs. It's reality TV at the end of the day. They've created their own reality TV show, and everyone is just tuning in and watching.

Robby

Yeah, but do you think there is a level of like do you reckon they just got in early?

George

Potentially. I mean, it'd be very hard. Like, if we do it now, do you reckon it's gonna take off?

Robby

No.

George

Yeah, I don't necessarily think so. Not that it were not interesting or that people wouldn't want to follow. I just think, yeah, there would be an element of that. Yes, they got in early and were adopters. I I think initially there's gonna be something this. Yeah, that'd be cool. This should stream live. Yeah, that'd be sick. We should find a way to do that, huh? We'd probably have to just clean up the pre-podcast talk. Pre-podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Because we talk some, we talk some smack. I'll tell you what. We were just having another one. I tell you what, we talk some smack and we're like, hey, don't record that part. Don't record that part. So yeah, it's yeah, I I with everybody.

Robby

Do you get what I'm saying? I'm alluding to is there corruption there? Like, who are these kids that get to these places and you look at them and you think, how the fuck did you get here?

George

Like, I think there's got to be something there. I think that yes, I do. I reckon it's almost at all levels. It it I would like to think it's not, but the realist in me believes that it's there. I would like to give benefit of the doubt and say, no, no, no, this is pure, this is not untouched, there's no issues here. But I'm sure somewhere someone is doing something untoward in almost every organization.

Robby

Okay, so then the question becomes what what's the point of playing the game? Playing by the game.

George

Exactly. Exactly. What's exactly what's the point of playing with the game just said Tate just said? Yeah, that's exactly what he just said. It's like we use Andrew Tate. He's like, the game's rigged. Why am I gonna try and fight the good fight? I'm just gonna go where it's more socially accepted for me to do the wrong thing. Wait, okay. Uh I can't remember what country it was in. Someone was telling me that if you ever get pulled over by the cops in this country, you all you've got to do, because you don't, they just want a 50 buck note and then they'll let you on their way. All right. So don't, they're not gonna actually give you a ticket. They're just gonna say, okay, you've been pulled over for speeding. Like, okay, sir, I'm sorry. Here you go. Does that cover the fine? He's like, yes, no worries, thank you. And away you go. Now, the right thing to do would be we're gonna write you a ticket, it's gonna send get sent in the mail, you pay that in 14 days, and the government gets their money. This bloke's not like, no, no, no. You pay me. I'm the government. I'm the government here now. So, Tate now is driving his bigotti down the street, he's doing 200k an hour, he gets pulled over, normally he'd lose his license, car impounded, turned into a cube, so on and so forth. They say, Mr. Tate, you were going very fast today. You broke your record. Well done. Okay, so then it's only gonna cost you $100 today.

Robby

Yeah, but then then then then are we not stupid playing if if you're saying there's corruption everywhere.

George

It's such a it's it's such a good question.

Robby

You know, because like it's like okay, what the fuck are we doing then? Yes, it's like such a good question. Wait, hold on. So so so there's corruption, it's like in this area, there's corruption here, but they've just lifted the level of corruption and they're like, hey, we're gonna make this little fake world where y'all gonna feel like y'all are actually doing shit. You're not, but we'll make it feel like you are, we're gonna take a bunch of money off you because this shit costs money to run, and uh, we're gonna go do what the fuck we want.

George

Uh

Crypto Manipulation And Feeling Played

George

yep. So what about uh do you follow crypto at all? Yeah, yeah. Like do you reckon that whole space is corrupt? Like who who owns Bitcoin? Where'd big Bitcoin come from? And then how do the markets just all of a sudden go up by stupid amounts of money and then crash by stupid amounts of money? Like that's got to be all controlled.

Robby

Are you do you have any money in Bitcoin?

George

I do actually, yeah. I haven't I haven't touched it for a long time. Like I when it's when it peaks down, what's it at? I don't what's it at? Uh it's it's it's under a hundred. Yeah, I I haven't touched, I haven't touched crypto for quite some time. For quite some time. However, when it was up, I had a fair bit of coin there. I was like, shit, probably should have sold it at the time. But anyway, regardless, I've sort of set and forget uh with that space. But what I was alluding to is I'm sure that's got a level of corruption to it, where the rich are just gonna go, hey, let's tank it and then let's buy it again at this price once it tanks, and then we'll pump it back up when it needs to be. And then meanwhile, you and me and everyone else that's going to buy you know $2,000 worth of Bitcoin today.

Robby

Don't you but doesn't that make you feel stupid?

George

Well, you've got to get to that level, I guess, yes.

Robby

You do you get what I'm saying though? Like, doesn't it make you feel like, hey man, why am I doing this? Like this is dumb. Like this is kind of it doesn't make any sense. Like you guys made a bunch of fake rules. I'm gonna sit here and abide by all the rules, and y'all are not gonna, and that's okay.

George

Yeah, but I'm gonna keep doing this.

Robby

Yeah, man, I'm gonna keep like it's like it's like you're playing a game, you know you can't win, and you're like, I'm just gonna keep fucking going, man. And it's like, hey, you should probably try play their game.

George

Yeah, yeah. How do you argue with that?

Robby

Yeah, I don't know. I'm trying to, I was hoping you come with a better argument. No, usually. I'm gonna leave here and start doing some corrupt shit and break bad.

George

Um, yeah, I mean, what what a great what a great way to look at things. Is it uh in the sense of you you're just thinking about it in a different aspect, like it's it's just a very different conversation because I would like to think I tried I I act with integrity, yeah, do the right thing in almost all aspects of my life. And you know, there's this saying that I like it's like being upset at a lion for not eating you. Sorry, it's up, it's like being upset at a lion for eating you because you didn't eat it. Like it's the nature of the beast. Okay, it's going to fucking eat you, and then you're like, oh man, I'm so upset. I'm so upset. So you're there trying to play by the rules, trying to make a living for yourself, trying to do everything you want you can possibly do. It's like, I mean, look at the government here, man. They've they they've they've put this state on its knees. This country's almost on its knees, okay. But Victoria is just cooked. And everyone's trying to play by the rules and do the right thing and save a bit of money and do this and get an investment property, and then they just turn around and say, Oh, yeah, by the way, capital gains tax, we'll take that. Thank you very much. We'll um we'll increase your taxes to this, you're gonna get less there. Oh, but don't worry, we're gonna give you 5% deposits here, and but oh, by the way, you can't buy a house because everything's wildly expensive, or rents are gonna go through the roofs, you can't actually live anywhere. Like, why are you playing that game? So alluding back to our mate that had the 250k suitcase, dude, take it. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, why are you playing this game? Why are you sitting there and going, hey, I'm gonna sit here and give you my money? I worked for this, I put myself in a position where I can sit here in front of this gentleman that wants to do business from overseas, right? He's not doing anything bad, he just wants to do developments, but he's got a lot of cash, and he had to bring the cash in with hard cold bills because his government wouldn't let him transfer it into this country. Allegedly. Allegedly, so we hear. And there you go. So he could win the game, he could be there, he could come outside here tomorrow and say, hey boys, I'll drive tonight. Got the brand new Turbo S Porsche KN. We'll fit all of us, and we'll get there really quick. Oh, how'd you get this? I could tell you, but I have to kill you. And I can make that happen because I know people now, because I'm in that world. So, yeah, that's that's the that's where it comes to. Do you have to lie, cheat, and steal? Do you have to be corrupt to get ahead in this world today?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

George

What an interesting concept. I'm gonna think about it when I go home. Is that not it? I'm gonna start looking at what shifty shit I can do.

Robby

This is uh this is the definition of corruption. Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power or position for private gain. And it's a like a great definition. And you you could dare say that you know, if people like the FIFA president, I'm not saying this he is, just in case he's listening. But if if someone in a position of an organization at that level is doing things for their own protection or their own pockets being lined, that is corruption. If people are, you know, paying someone how much was it for how many seal bins?

George

Yeah, 13 million or whatever it was.

Robby

13 million dollars.

George

That is getting corruption.

Robby

That is has to be crucial. Someone in a position of power, but so the the and going back to the story at the start here about my mate at the gym. He's not my mate, I actually don't know his name. Um, but him, you know, putting down 10k to win a job, 10k to win a job, and then winning the job, that's corruption. Yeah, personal game. Yeah, the person on the other side is picking the person who's lining their pocket. So they are in a position of entrusted power and they're abusing it for private gains. Yeah. You know, that's the core of it. It covers a range of behaviors bribery, embezzlement, nepotism, fraud, extortion, and kickbacks. Returning a portion of funds as a reward for facilitating a deal. That's not allowed. No, don't do it. Uh me, I've never done it ever. Uh, I wouldn't do that. I would never do that. I wouldn't um yeah, I don't know. Something to think about, George.

George

It is something to think about.

Robby

Um should we just stop doing events and start selling drugs?

George

What do you do at the events? What's have you been doing something different? I thought this is a good one.

Robby

Isn't that all that's just a front? Isn't that the whole event?

George

Oh, these builder summits. Uh well is that what they're about.

Robby

In saying that, um it's definitely an interesting conversation. Uh you know what else is really interesting?

AI Webinar Plug And Real Use Cases

Robby

AI. And I'm gonna I'm gonna shamelessly plug here, George. I'm gonna shamelessly plug. But if you're listening to this on the day or on the week that it comes out, and it's not Thursday yet, you've still got time. What the date? Give us a date. Okay, so Robert. If it's not we are we're doing I I I'm I'm gonna come out here and say it. I think we're doing some really cool shit in the AI space. Like really fucking cool shit. When every time every single person I show, they're like, what the fuck? Like blown away. And We're going to show people how they can do it, George. You know, because I think the world's about to change significantly and I think people are not ready. And I feel a level of duty to inform people on how they can take advantage of what's happening right now. You know, how they can get themselves off the scratch. This is no get rich quick shit. That's the first thing that was on the webinar, by the way. Like, hey, if you're here for get rich quick, you're the wrong place. But I'm going to get you. This person's going to do everything for you. This is not about get rich quick. This is about understanding the change that's happening in the world. This is about leveraging it, levering some of your time back, starting to understand how you can use the tools.

George

And could it make you wealthy? Could it make you money? It could 100% make you money.

Robby

1000% without a doubt in the world. Yeah. Make you money. It's Thursday, the 23rd of July at 4 p.m. I'm going to pop the link in the description everywhere. It's going to be on my story. Follow me on Instagram. Follow the podcast somewhere. It'll be somewhere. If you look around and you want to be there and you want to learn how you can leverage uh AI tools and AI agent, you know, tools like Clawed Code, OpenClaw, and how you can start to build them into what you're doing. And most of them are free. And did I say the webinar's free as well? The webinar's free. There's no cost. There is limited spots. Just your time. Limited spots. Just your time. Flame Zoom, not me. But Thursday, 4 p.m. I've done it at that time because I figured, you know, most people can kind of wrap off their day and then sit in front of a computer. Because you're going to be one you're going to want to be in front of a computer for this one. Registrations at the link somewhere. Anywhere. Find it. My Instagram in the description. Use AI to find it. Use AI to find it. Send me a message if you can't find it and I'll send you the send you a link personally. I'll write it myself. Yeah, be there. It's going to be fucking great.

George

I can't wait. Man, I see I see it every day. You keep pushing me to keep looking at stuff and getting more involved in it. And you know what? I must admit, I fall into the rat race sometimes. Yeah. It's like the business doesn't stop. No, exactly. I just feel like at the moment there's so many moving parts with what I'm doing. And it's like even one of your employees was saying, Hey, have you reviewed these things yet? I said, dude, haven't done it. And I go, I've got to be totally honest with you. It's the lowest of my priorities at the moment. I go, I am going to do it. I've got the tabs open, ready to review, but just give me some time. I will do it. But regardless of that, the whole intent to implement this sort of stuff is to make you less like that.

Robby

Let me, I'll give you a real good example, like a live example of something that I've done in our own business where previously I would have had to go and take time to do this thing, and I'll explain how I do it now. Okay. So we use a project management tool to manage all our projects. With everyone we do SEO with, we we work six months at a time. Okay, so we do six months, and then as that six months comes to the end, we plan out the next six. You know, we review and adjust and everything. To plan out your next six months, realistically, like I got to jump in, I gotta build it into the template, set all the tasks, assign them to everyone, put in the times, put in the priorities. It might take, I don't know, 90 minutes, maybe maybe an hour if you like, doing them one after the other, and you can kind of lay out the next person's six months of tasks and so forth. I now say, hey Reggie, uh you know, Pascon's coming today in the next six months. Can you please build in the next six months? Um, run it off the past six months, assign to the people that have been working on it. Boom. Ten minutes, I'll check it. It's all built in. I haven't done that 10 minutes. I was like walking around talking to people. And it's like, cool, man. Like that, that to me, when you have to do those things over and over again, or you connect it to your zero account and you say, Hey, check this account, or where's this at? Or what's our PL say, or how much are we in the rears for this project, or you know what I mean? What's our cash position? And it can answer like that. It can go and pull the data and bring it to you like that. Like on WhatsApp, dude. You can be like going to bed and be like, one sec, I just gotta check. Yeah. It's like, all right, cool, go do this. I'm going to bed. And it'd be like, all right, good night.

George

Um, yeah, it's very cool. It is, it's fast that previously took you so long to do, dude. Don't take you long.

Robby

Yeah, yeah. It's like, and some of the stuff's gonna be smaller, and then some like we've got things that previously took four hours and now they take four minutes because we just assign it to Reggie in the project management system, and Reggie just does it. It's like cool. It's a forever-changing world. But we'll put the link in somewhere, 23rd of July, 4 p.m. Uh, be there. If you've missed it, I don't know if we'll have a recording, but message me and if we do, I'll send it to you.

George

Just got to get there. That's the main thing. Get there. Invest your time. Invest some time into it. Because if you don't, totally fine, someone else will. And then they will be corrupted by it and you will be working for them for the rest of your life.

Robby

I keep telling people, AI is not gonna replace builders. But the builder using AI will replace the ones who don't.

unknown

Get on it.

George

On that note. Get on it. Awesome. Well, thank you very much once again for tuning in, guys. See you the next episode. Tuning into our episodes every week.

Robby

Religious? Yeah, it has to be. Should we make a religion?

George

Stop it. And then we'll corrupt it.

Robby

Thanks a lot, guys. Thanks, everyone.
